BEREAN BIBLE COLLEGE
Are you interested in expanding our knowledge and understanding of God's Word? Are you interested in equipping yourself for ministry? Shape and develop your calling through our core curriculum. We offer two, three, and four year programs in Pastoral Ministry, Biblical Counseling, Missions, and Christian Education. If you would like to receive the current schedule of classes or want more information please call the college office at 858-679-5874.
CARE GROUPS
The intimate setting of Care Groups is based on the pattern of the early church as seen in Acts 2:42, 46 "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to breaking of bread and to prayer . . . They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts."
An integral facet of Living Way Church's core values is the Care Group Ministry. Weekly meetings enable the church family to come together in homes as small groups for prayer, worship, Bible study and fellowship, providing and excellent opportunity to get to know other church members on a more personal level.
Care Groups meet on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM. Topics include marriage, child rearing, discipleship, personal growth, and ministry.
If you would like to know more about Care Groups or would like to find out if there is a group near you contact the church office at 858-486-1441.
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6
Children are a vital part of Living Way Church. We consider it a great privilege and an awesome responsibility to teach and minister to your children. We believe that children are not the church of tomorrow, but the church of today. The Children’s Ministry includes all areas of ministry for children from birth to fifth grade.
We want to help each child to know that God made him, loves him, has a plan for him, and cares about every one of his needs. Every time your child comes to LWC they will have the opportunity to participate in music and age-appropriate teaching by our caring and committed volunteer staff.
J.A.M. (Jesus and Me)
A recent survey found that Americans in their 20's are the least likely age group to attend religious services, be absolutely committed to Christianity, read the Bible or serve in their church. From high school graduation to age 25, there is a 42% drop off in weekly church attendance.
J.A.M. is our response to these difficult and often confusing years from High School Graduation through College and on to "What's Next?".
Meeting weekly on Thursday nights at 7:30 PM, J.A.M. combines contemporary worship, timely ministry of the Word, sincere prayer, and uplifting fellowship to fulfill the command of Christ that we "love one another", proving ourselves to be His disciples.
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34-35
FORERUNNERS
The Forerunners Fellowship is our 50 and better Senior’s Ministry. It is our desire as the senior members of our church family to truly be Forerunners; to run before; to precede; to be a herald to those who come after us. That we might be an example to those who follow; to run well the race set before us.
It is our desire to create an atmosphere of love, encouragement, and support of one another. Our heart is to build meaningful relationships through fellowship, fun, love and prayer. We want our fellowship to be a place of care for one another, as well as an outreach to others.
We generally meet on the third Saturday of the month. We have potluck dinners, game nights, outings, including plays, and dinner out. We hope you will join us.
LOCAL OUTREACH - JAIL MINISTRY
The LWC Jail Ministry team reaches out monthly to prisoners at the South Bay Detention facility in Chula Vista. Ministering through worship, personal testimony, sharing the Word and prayer, these teams honor the words of Jesus found in Mt 25:36 "I was in prison and you visited me." Please contact Jasen Bradley at (858) 486-1441 for more information.
LOCAL OUTREACH - SAN DIEGO RESCUE MISSION
Women & Children's Center - The Women's Center Ministry assists women (many
of whom have their children with them) who are dealing with a variety of
difficult situations, including abusive relationships and drug addictions.
For lasting change, the Women and Children's Center (WCC) provides a long-term
residential treatment community program designed to incorporate Biblical
principles into the lives of residents. The LWC Outreach Ministry Team provides
chapel services on the 1st anf 5th Wednesday of every month.
Men's Center - San Diego Rescue Mission helps meet the physical, spiritual
and recovery needs of all homeless, poor and addicted men through a 12-month
residential rehabilitation program. This program is centered on beginning and/or
strengthening a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
This residential program is designed to incorporate a holistic approach to recovery,
addressing the needs of the mind, body, and soul. Practical life skills, educational,
and Bible study classes are taught and required to transform the men. Work therapy
and individual therapy are also part of the recovery process for each client. After
graduation, the goal is that all men will both live independently in our society and
to depend fully on Jesus Christ.
The LWC Outreach Ministry Team provides chapel services on the 1st Tuesday of every
month. In addition, the team will be implementing a Life Skills Class that will teach
the men in small groups the application of Christian values in everyday life. Topics
taught will include: decision making, conflict resolution, family life, leadership,
financial literacy, etc. For more information on any of the San Diego Rescue Mission
ministries please contact Mark Dela Cruz.
LOCAL OUTREACH - REST HOME MINISTRY
The Rest Home Ministry brings the church to those who cannot come to church. There are two weekly Rest Home meetings led by the LWC Outreach Ministry Team. These services include worship, individual prayer as well as comfort and encouragement. Team members have been faithfully visiting these dear people for seventeen years.
LOCAL OUTREACH - BEREAVEMENT TEAM MINISTRY
LWC's newest Outreach Ministry is done through coordination with the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. LWC is contacted whenever a family who has lost a loved one does not have a church or pastor and is requesting spiritual care. This is an awesome opportunity to provide comfort and love to those in sincere need.
For more information about any of our Local Outreach Ministries contact the church office at 858-486-1441.
MEN'S MINISTRY
We desire to be steadfast men of integrity. We are committed to the goal of building leaders in our families, our church and our community through fellowship, prayer and continual study of the Word. We gather monthly on the second Saturday of each month at 7:30 AM for a continental breakfast, worship and sharing of God's Word. One of the highlights of the year is the Men's High Sierra Outdoor Adventure held during the month of May, when we head north for fishing, golfing, skiing or just some reading on the couch.
N.O.A.H. GROUPS
N.O.A.H. stands for Natural Outreach of Activities and Hobbies, our groups are designed to build friendships within our church and create an environment to invite outside friends who are willing to participate in a hobby but might not be comfortable enough to attend a church service.
